The following team composition will be allowed:
2.3.1. 2 ladies’ singles
2.3.2. 1 ladies’ doubles
2.3.3. 2 men’s singles
2.3.4. 1 men’s doubles
2.3.5. 1 mixed doubles
NOTE: Each athlete may enter a maximum of two (2) events.
3. Best two (2) out of three (3) sets – 12 point tie break at 6-6 in all sets
4. A round robin will be played to determine the final team positions.
5. On court coaching will be permitted on each ninety (90) second changeover during a match. The designated team coach may, at these changeovers, coach the athlete(s).
Only the coach may speak to the chair umpire on a “point of fact” and in the case of an appeal on a question of “tennis law” with the referee.
7.1.Scoring will be based on 1 point for each match won and the total points earned by all individuals representing their Districtteam will combined to determine the outcome of each team tie.
7.2.Team championships will be determined by the team accumulating the most points in the round robin team event. Individual champions will be determined by the athlete winning the most number of individual matches.
The tennis competition at the Botswana Games will be held in accordance with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Rules of Tennis 2008, and the Botswana Games policies and procedures.
